Granny's Got Moves to Usher!

So impressed by this sudden Bust-A-Move by this older woman. It's great that she's keeping so healthy and youthful at her age.

Facebook is the CIA's Favorite App

It's amazing how The Onion will go to extreme lengths to make their spoofs real. They ALMOST had me on this one LOL!!!

New Google Maps Ad

Google needs to advertising like the sky needs to remind us it's blue. But it's still fun to watch.

If you're still unaware of all the features built into Google Maps like bus routing for example I use weekly you can check them out at maps.google.com/starthere.

My Sweet New Ride

Getting around in Seattle is a challenge and you have to be creative. Seattle actively makes it extremely costly to drive a car to work on a daily basis and the cost just went up for me when they activated the toll last month on the 520 bridge. Average working Seattlites can be seen taking the bus, walking, biking and I've even seen one on a unicycle!

Well coming from Redondo Beach, California my alternative mode of travel has always been a Skatboard. It's light weight, fun to ride & doesn't require a tree to lock up. When I came to Seattle I was excited to know that they don't have strict skate laws like Cali. No, no, that's because they don't have to have them. Since it rains 80% of the year the sidewalks are paved with gravel so that you don't slip while walking. This makes it a $%#*&@# MARATHON to skate on. I wasn't willing to give up that easily and I've built the PERFECT commuter board for Seattle terrain.

I road this board to work yesterday and the ride was Surreal! Finally I can enjoy an easy skate to work and turn quite a few heads ;-)

First I started with a Sector 9 Fractal Deck. Just the deck though... I didn't want the board complete because I wanted to pick my trucks, wheels & bearings.

The smooth ride came form 9.5" 50 GW Stalker 2 trucks. These trucks come at a hefty $75 but let me tell you they are worth every penny. I have never felt a smoother ride than with these trucks. They are built with special ride dampening technology to reduce vibration in your feet. THEY REALLY WORK!!

For bearings I went with Bone Swiss. I could have gone China Bone bearings but it rains a lot meaning water damage and I didn't want to have to replace $100 bearings so these were $55 instead.

Went with Black Diamond Grip Tape. In the Pacific North West it's actually REALLY hard to find a shop that sells long board grip tape so I had to order it online. This grip tape will do me just fine in the rain because it's super strong!

And finally to finish off the look I got some 69mm 80a 9-Balls in blue to match the deck. Pebbles beware because these wheels kill anything in their path. The size and give on these wheels add to the smooth ride and comfort knowing you won't be flying face first when you hit a pebble or large crack in the sidewalk.

That's it for board review. You can check out the links to order and build your own. This board is Nothing Short of Awesome!

Carbonite Online Backup

So yesterday there were no posts because yet another western digital piece of crap decided to die.

Now my wallet hurt but I didn't lose 6 years worth of work because I had Carbonite Online backup. I'm not getting paid to say this but it's restoring 100+ gigs of client work.

I spent many years in my early career working in Photoshop and all the tools used in this video are the actual tools used in the industry today. Don't beat yourselves up girls.

Kids and Retro Technology

I Love experiments like this! I remember being really young and adults saying... "You don't know what a _________ is?!... Kids these days!". Now I find myself saying the same thing. It great to watch these kids try to guess the objects because the technology isn't that old. But at the speed of technological advancements these days, things are getting out dated fast!
I have to admit though, I have no idea what the yellow box thing with the side cartridge is. I was born in 1982. I think it would be funny to get a rotary phone in my next office Hahahaha... Just to throw people.
